Join a guided walking tour beneath the historic streets of Budapest’s Castle District and explore the unique 3.3 km-long cave system hidden under Buda Castle Hill. Learn about its fascinating geology and layered history—from natural limestone caverns and medieval cellars to WWII shelters and even a prison.

  • Normal tour: 1.5 km – approx. 1.5 hours
  • Short tour: 0.6 km – approx. 45 minutes

  • Please arrive on time – latecomers cannot join once the tour starts.

  • The cave is well-lit with paved paths
  • Temperature: 12 °C (54 °F) – wear suitable clothing and comfortable shoes
  • Max. group size: 25 people
  • Age recommendations:
    • Normal tour: from age 12
    • Short tour: from age 5
  • Photos/videos only with written permission from the guide and group
