Publication date: 2016.12.18

In 2016 enthusiastic volunteers helped the implementation of the LIFE + project titled Conservation of dry grasslands in Central Hungary.

The DINPD contracted Zöldövezet Társulás (an NGO) to recruit volunteers and to organise events to help field works. In 2016 cca. 370 volunteers took part on 11 occasions. Participants were mainly high school pupils and students from the Faculty of Agriculture and Environmental Sciences of Szent István University, Gödöllő. The volunteers helped to collect, carry away and depose the cut-off pieces of indigenous shrubs from the area, they collected waste and built handlebars and counter-erosion barriers.
