Duna-Ipoly Nemzeti Park Igazgatóság launched a volunteering program in cooperation with Zöldövezet Társulás Egyesület within the framework of the LIFE+ tender to protect dry-climate vegetation, and in the meantime, it announces an additional event.
On 10 February, “nature rescuers” wishing to actively protect natural values helped us for the umpteenth, but not the last time. This time, our directorate aims to stop or delay bush growth emerging in the protected area of Bárányjárás located at the limits of Domonyvölgy abandoned by grazing animals decades ago. In the volunteering program, the few volunteers helped in depositing of the bushes already cut to prepare those for chopping at a later date. Removal of the bushes by volunteers was necessary to conserve valuable grasslands.
